Danial Panahandeh Shahraki

Dan is an NIH T32 postdoctoral fellow, currently, working on wearable/portable medical ultrasounds in DaraioLab at Caltech. He works on both theory and experimental research, at the intersection between mechanics, materials and bioengineering. In PhD, from University of Minnesota, he focused on a problem aimed at allowing tissue imaging with focused ultrasound, measuring nonlinear elastic properties of tissue, to look for cancer biomarkers. In parallel, he also developed theoretical and modeling tools to investigate wave propagation in structured materials.
