Enbo Zhu

Dr. Enbo Zhu obtained two Bachelor’s degrees in Chemistry and Biotechnology from Jilin University in 2011 and subsequently pursued his doctoral studies in the laboratory of Prof. Yu Huang at the University of California, Los Angeles. During his doctoral studies, he conducted research on the interactions between biomolecules and nanomaterials, which earned him the prestigious 2016 Dissertation Year Fellowship. After completing his Ph.D., Dr. Zhu continued to explore the interactions between nanomaterials and immune cells as a postdoctoral researcher under the mentorship of Prof. Yu Huang and Prof. Lili Yang at the University of California, Los Angeles. He then went on to pursue another postdoctoral experience under the guidance of Prof. Richard Roberts at the University of Southern California, where he studied mRNA display techniques for superior peptide selection. Currently, Dr. Zhu is a postdoctoral fellow at the University of California, Los Angeles, where he is working under the mentorship of Prof. Lili Yang and Prof. Tzung Hsiai. His research is primarily focused on developing CAR-T cell-based therapy for cardiovascular disease and advancing the development of a superior light sheet optical system to achieve large-scale but high-resolution imaging. Dr. Zhu’s work has garnered support from the NHLBI NIH UCLA/Caltech Integrated Cardiometabolic Medicine for Bioengineers T32 Research Service Award.
