Brian Zhong
Brian Zhong is a postdoctoral fellow in the lab of Dr. Mikhail Shapiro in the Division of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at Caltech. His research focuses on discovering and engineering new biomolecules to enable non-invasive control of cellular function in living organisms using ultrasound. Brian received Bachelor of Science degrees in Chemical-Biological Engineering and in Biology from MIT and obtained his PhD in Chemical Engineering from Stanford University under the guidance of Dr. Alex Dunn. His PhD research focused on characterizing the biophysical behavior of a class of synaptic adhesion molecules under mechanical force and engineering biosensors to measure these molecular forces in biological systems.
